This is for the Deus Ex fans on my tumblr.
My friend Cody pointed out to me that the Main Theme for DXHR (Sarif Industries Ambient if you’re going by a game-rip; Main Theme for Augmented Edition OST) actually has an alternate melody. This melody occurs when you reverse the song.
Not only does the piano disappear, bar the very faint echo of two keys in the ‘chorus’ line, but all the choirs and strings have an amazing run of their own in reverse. Additionally, the electric piano which was reversed in the original piece shines on its own now it can be heard the right way around, which really ties it all together with the now-hollow hits of the bass drum.
A neat, probably unintentional easter egg to what is already a beautiful piece of music.
